Two former Cedar Clubbers (Aaron Gardner & Curt Lundeen) have been running a paddle charity event for the past decade that many from the Cedar Club have participated in. Thought I’d pass along the good news!

Hello Everyone,
Here is the update from the 10th Annual Brew City Charity Open Event from last weekend.
THANK YOU to everyone for playing and supporting the event, what an amazing impact that 88 paddle players can make in one day!
A few special thanks to the volunteers who helped make the day successful:
- Dagney, Megan, Freddie, and Braulio from the Town Club staff for bringing the food and keeping the hut clean
- Lizzie S., Lindsey G., Ameilia S., and Charley G. for helping with the registration table and updating the scoreboard
- Joe D. for his help to ensure the courts at MCC and Tripoli were good to go for the day
- Kevin C. and Exact Sciences for their sponsorship and support
Some #’s from the day:
- 66 matches played
- 18 matches went 3 sets (27%)
- Average match time was 58 minutes
- Team Milwaukee Tennis Education Foundation won 41 matches
- Team Make-a-Wish WI won 25 matches
- Players were represented from The Town Club, The Cedar Club, Maple Bluff Country Club, Milwaukee Country Club, Meadow Creek Club, and a few with no affiliation but share in the passion
- ….and drumroll for the best one of them all….
- Over $30,000 raised!!! (we are still waiting for a few checks to come in)
You will receive your tax-deductible receipt from one of the charities within the next few weeks.
Thanks again to everyone for showing up, paddling for a purpose, and supporting these two great charities.
Cheers,
— Gards & Curt
