There are over 80 guys at the club (and about 20 ladies, too). Many of our members run or own their own businesses…  and everyone is a big shot, for sure — or at least knows someone who is.  It’s the kind of thing LinkedIn is famous for, you know, “6 degrees of separation.”

In that light, there are folks who belong to the club who could make a great client for you, or a key supplier or maybe even you new business partner… but how would you know?

We’re all a bunch of chickens when it comes to asking (or, for the more sophisticated), we don’t want to look like an ass at the Club.

It’s the Garage. — you just want to have a great time and get away from work for an hour or two while winning a hard fought match.

So here’s how to do it…

Look for an email questionnaire from me this summer. It’s the short version of who you are and who (or what) you’re looking for.  We want to empower every member to reach out effectively to our members, without making things awkward.

Take a look at these two samples for Drew Lied and Mike Farley. Your bio will look much the same. You can write it up yourself and submit it (along with a business photo) to:

mike@jshandp.com

or you can wait for me to buy you a cup of coffee… and I’ll write it up for you.

Hopefully, we’ll get a bio on every member by the start of the Fall season — that will be a part of an online directory (and linked to your member photo) in the Members page of the site. You easily be able to get a read on who you’re playing with or against and see if they’re worth tanking your match.

Looking for a handyman, you got it. Need a good attorney? We got them, too. And if you’re looking for money, well, there’s always a good Friday Night poker game!

You can add just about any links you want to other business websites, your own social media or to a hobby business that you’d like to promote.
