This email is going to all Milwaukee/Madison area Platform Tennis players (known to me, David Brock).
Brief introduction…I play paddle at the Cedar Club and I am taking over the reins with scheduling and promoting paddle events in the Milwaukee area. Just trying to grow the game we love. You’re getting this email because someone, somewhere said you play paddle. I will send ~3 more emails this season with dates and information for open(not club specific) tournaments. If you want off this list, please just reply and I’ll remove you. If there is someone super important to your paddle world, please forward this to them to make sure they’re informed and I get them added to my list if they did not receive this from me directly.
First up is the Milwaukee State Open – Now called “The Brew City Open”. We are working to promote the event in Milwaukee, Madison, Indianapolis and Chicago to draw strong teams for those playing and for those who want to come out to watch top level paddle. Spectators are encouraged so put it on your calendar even if you’re not playing. Tournament details are below, and we would love to see strong participation from area players. I’m working with Caio from the Town Club and Sara Mackay to build what is hopefully a strong men’s and women’s field, and a great Saturday of paddle. Brew City Open
Date: Saturday, Nov 16th
Cost: The tournament entry fee is $160 per team or $80 per player. Additionally, since this is an APTA tournament, players will need to sign-up for an APTA membership. The membership is $45 per player for the 2024-2025 season.
Teams: The women’s draw is capped at 16 teams, men’s at 32 and spots are first come, first serve for sign-ups. No prior tournaments or points required to enter.
Included: 3 guaranteed matches, lunch, dinner, beer/wine and a long sleeve tee that I’m told is wonderful. There will also be a Friday night party, details will be distributed to tournament participants.

Link to renew or start an APTA membership: Using this link to sign-up through the Town Club will reduce the APTA membership from $90/person to $45/person. No issue with non-members using this link for sign-up.

Registration for the tournament closes on Nov 10th (but sign-up by the 4th to guarantee your shirt size!). Reminder – spots are first come, first serve!
