Strongest field ever in 25th Anniversary Year!
Thanks to Nick Curran for founding it 25 years ago, and finishing up in fine fashion as The Cedar Club played host to most of the matches (along with the University Club and the Town Club) on a perfect paddle day on Saturday, February 8th.
Chicken and chili for lunch, ribs for dinner, plenty to drink at the bar and great commaraderie — what more could you want?
Well, as fate would have it — an epic battle all day long amongst awesome A/B teams (which some might suggest were closer to A+/A- teams). What a battle for the top spot! Incredible paddle play… and through that blender, Drew Lied and Bob Larsen took the title under the lights against David Brock and Pat Laughlin in the Championship final.
Of course, per usual for this tournament, teams are ensured to play three matches on the day… crowning Consolation, Quarter Reprieve and Super Suck winners!
Who they were, surely their names will be etched on a plaque somewhere — too bad no one cares. 🤣
