After much deliberation, and pleas for “just one more team”, Nick Curran has offered up this year’s 2018 Smack! draw (2018-Smack-Draw). Early favorites are already in, along with dark horse teams should prove to make this year’s Smack! the best yet.
With three additional club courts in play (Town Club, Milwaukee Country Club and the Scott Schroeder Man Palace Deluxe) and The Cedar Club as your tournament home, plus some of the finest paddlers from across the county …and across the country, it’ll be a full day affair with a championship team being crowned somewhere around 6:00pm.
Eric Arvold and Steve Mayer (aka Squirrel) will return to defend their crown from Smack! 2017, but with different partners! Arvold has bet his tournament on TCC’s Dan Einhorn, while Mayer has thrown in with TCC Fall Classic Champ, Brad Brogan. Can Einhorn make the kinds of “switch” calls that compliment TCC’s no.1 lefty and no.1 ranked player, or will he simply invite mass confusion? Likewise, Squirrel will be tested with a southpaw, too. Could it be a sign? Or just a bad omen?
Spouses, casual observers, and devotees of the game are welcome to come watch the action, enjoy great food, fun and spirits… all the while heckling their favorite teams…. and never count out a tournament with the opportunity for a Super Suck Championship!
