Gentlemen,

As you are all aware, the paddle season is nearing an end. It appears to me that we’ve had a great season by all accounts, but all good things must come to an end. Thanks to everyone for contributing to a good season.

This Thursday is the last night of winter league, so come on out to have a drink, throw some dice, and try to secure your golf invitations for the coming months.

We’re ending with a banger 8:40 match as 4 of the top 5 ranked players face off, which will surely make for some interesting fireside wagers. Me, MJ, Mamalat and Lied are the players. The athletic prowess in this group is remarkable. Allow me to put it in perspective.

  • MJ was a top 50 junior player in the world, and was the training partner for multiple women’s major champions leading into those tournaments. Post professional tennis he captained the NAIA national champions and won two NAIA national doubles championships.
  • Drew was all big-ten first team at Michigan State, earned big ten player of the week multiple times, beat multiple nationally ranked players
  • Mamalat was all big-east team at Marquette, earned three MVPs, posted a 20-10 senior year record, won 15 doubles matches with Vuk.
  • I played high school tennis and had three match points against Tim Sczmychek when I was ten, all of which I failed to convert.

Look forward to closing out the season in style with whoever can make it out.

Dave Brock
