2nd Annual TCC vs. Tqua Invitiational Tournament
A fantastic outing from start to finish saw The Cedar Club dominate the paddle action at this year’s Invitational tournament, played at Tannaqua in Deerfield, IL. On a perfect paddle day, the Cedar Clubbers arrived in style aboard the U.S.S. SHERPA and enjoyed the hospitality of the T-qua team, club house, 6 platform courts, great food and an amazing Bloody Mary Bar!
Lead by Team Captain Pat Laughlin, a “dream team” of Cedar Clubbers carried the day by winning over 70% of their games, including a team game score of 226-183 and a match score of 38-16.
Team Members: Andy Peterson, Tom Lehmann, Nick Creten, Bruce Hutson, Tom Gelin, Mitch REgenfuss, Dan Noonan, Matt Monroe, Chris Hitler, Nick Piotrowski, Mike Farley, John-Michael Fleming, Jon Feldbruegge, Andrew Bayliss, Dan Einhorn and Pat Laughlin.
The MVP of the series was none-other-than-the-mild-mannered Daniel Noonan, who’s stamina to play and win 5 matches with 5 different partners added 50 points to the TCC team score! Followed closely by Nick Piotrowski’s 4 win (40 point) effort and Matt Monroe, John-Michael, Andrew Bayliss and Dan Einhorn who also went undefeated in 3 matches.
Next year, the event moves back to the Cedar Club. If you have the opportunity to join in the action, start sucking up to Pat now!
